Week Four EOC

What is the difference between marketing and advertising?

Marketing involves many tasks, which may last hours too many days of research. The research involves understand how people react to different items and products that a company wishes to sell. They have to research of peoples behaviors, as well and be familiar with the environment they are in to have an idea whether their product will have successes in selling itself. Typically marketing is considered a process that involves different aspects of advertising, sales and distribution. Marketing is concerned with their customers and the needs of their customers. Millions of dollars are spent in marketing focus groups trying to decide how to fix existing products and services. A good marketing strategy will understand the needs of the customer and find the best way to send information to the customer.

Advertising involves spreading the word about your business and products. Advertising is considered the most expensive piece of marketing. It includes ad placement, television, radio and internet advertising. Advertising is an aspect of marketing. The goal of advertising is to create awareness of existing products or services. Advertising explains why customers need that particular product, how it will benefit their lives and how to get it.

According to Don Draper, from "Mad Men," "Advertising is happiness"
